He has shown a prodigious talent at such a young age, performed in famous concert halls across the globe and collaborated with numerous orchestras. His flair was also recognized by countless prizes, scholarships and performance opportunities.
Wu’s most recent achievement happened at the 3rd LangLang Shenzhen Futian International Piano Festival, where he was awarded the first prize in the competition. The championship was granted by famous musicians and witnessed by Lang Lang himself. He was also the first-prize winner in the 2nd USMCE (U.S. Music Certification Exams) Piano Open Competition, 2018 New York Piano Competition (along with the Solomon Mikowsky Award for Outstanding Young Musical Talent), The Second Seiler & Samick Piano Competition National Finals, The Third Shanghai Spring International Piano E-Competition and the 2016 Chinese Great Tone Piano Competition.
Wu has been featured as the soloist with many different orchestras. In May 2018, he performed at the Carnegie Hall with the New York International Youth Philharmonic. He was subsequently interviewed by the World Daily, while the performance was streamed on the Classic FM Facebook page. In the same month, he performed with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra in Shanghai Conservatory’s He Luting Concert Hall, as part of the “Symphony Concert of Excellent Students” presenter by the Shanghai Conservatory Middle School. He was selected to perform with the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the Maestro Piano Concerto Class in August 2018, while he was invited to perform with the GUMI Chamber Orchestra in the “Care for Autistic Children” GUMI Piano & Orchestra Charity Night Concert in June 2017.
Wu has been trained professionally under the tutelage of Prof. Christopher Zhong since the age of seven, and was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory Middle School (Elementary School) in 2016. He has been awarded The Niu Ende Piano Scholarship for three consecutive years.
